The Board of Directors for 2011-2012

NDFR is governed by a volunteer board of directors elected by the membership at the annual general meeting each spring.  Please contact us to apply for this or any other volunteer opportunities.

President

Marie Limanni is a dynamic IT and Business Executive with over 20 years of experience leading large, complex business transformations. Marie is a results driven individual with extensive experience in Client Relationship Management, Professional Services, Outsourcing, Operations, Sales and Audit. She brings vision, energy and a sense of excitement to her work and community leadership roles. She has a passion for fostering a spirit of teamwork and collaboration, bringing a sense of fun to work and focus to get it right with clients. Marie is active in the Wired for Women Mentoring Program. Marie has a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science, Education and Honors in Spanish. She is married and has four children. She lives in Etobicoke and enjoys coaching various sports. Marie is an active golfer and plays the tenor saxophone. Marie joined the NDFR board in 2011.

Vice-President

Aran Kavanagh is a Middle School Teacher with the Toronto District School Board. Aran earned a B.Sc. at Mount Allison University and a B.Ed. at Acadia University. As a resident of West Toronto, Aran and her two children have frequented local play groups. She enjoys Pilates, films and cooking in her spare time. Aran joined the board in 2010.

Treasurer

Greg Smith is Vice President, Key Account Management with Crawford & Company (Canada) Inc. He has worked in the insurance industry for over 14 years with roles in marketing, project management, strategic planning and operations. Greg has a Masters of Business Administration degree from the Richard Ivey School of Business and a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Wilfird Laurier University. Greg and his wife Dana have lived in Etobicoke for five years and welcomed their first child, a baby girl in December 2011. Greg joined the NDFR board as Treasurer in 2012.

Secretary

Emily Harper-Hawkins is Manager, Executive Office, Programs & Events at the Greater Toronto Hotel Association. Emily has worked in the tourism and hospitality industry for over 3 years representing the organization within all levels of Government. Emily graduated from the University of Guelph with a Bachelor of Commerce Degree and is fluent in oral and written French. Emily has extensive governance experience working in several supporting roles with over 4 Board of Directors. Emily joined the NDFR's Board of Directors in March 2010.

Members

Pearl Gupta is a Chartered Accountant with PrincewaterhouseCoopers LLP in their Advisory practice. She has several years of experience working with youth-oriented organizations and has a strong passion for volunteerism. Pearl brings on board her experience in advisory, strategic management, and accounting. Pearl is a leader and team worker who strives to help others in need. Pearl joined the NDFR board in 2011.

Natasha Lenton is a reimbursement manager at a pharmaceutical company in Mississauga. She has worked in the pharmaceutical industry for over a decade in various roles, from clinical research to marketing. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology and Immunology from McGill University and a Master of Business Administration from the Schulich School of Business. Natasha and her husband have two children and, currently live in Etobicoke where they use the drop-in programs. Natasha joined the board in 2011.

Henry Ng is an aspiring Chartered Accountant at McGovern, Hurley, Cunningham, LLP and obtained his Bachelor of Business Administration at University of Toronto Scarborough. He is enthused to have the opportunity to be working with such like-minded individuals with the common goal to give back to the community. During his free time, Henry likes to work out at the gym, play basketball, or spend quality time with his family and friends. Henry joined the NDFR board in 2012.

Marika Sterbinsky is a professional engineer with an MBA in business management. She brings to NDFR her organisational, marketing and management experience. Marika lives in Etobicoke with her husband and son. They participate in the NDFR drop-in program. She joined the NDFR board in 2012.
